“Headed for the future”
    
1st February 2020 – a day earmarked in the school calendar as a special day, was the day our students of class X tearfully parted with their alma mater.

Valedictory function started on 30th January 2020 with a spiritual healing session led by Rev Fr. Joy, followed by a Eucharistic celebration to thank the Almighty and seek blessings for a happy and successful life.

On 1st February 2020, the 44 valedictorians accompanied by the Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Sebastian Mathai, Principal, Christ Junior College, Joint Secretary Sr. Ida Barboza, Principal Sr. Rosevera and other dignitaries led by the school band entered the auditorium in full splendour with their heads held high took the centre stage and sang the invocation song. After the symbolic lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Principal Sr. Rosevera, Teachers representative Mrs. Nisha Thomas, School Pupil leader Rida Rabea Fathima, and parent representative Mrs. Malini, Mrs. Padma welcomed the august gathering which was followed by a welcome dance.

A solemn time of experience sharing by valedictorian Deepti Sharma, teacher Mrs. Bertha Rajan and parent Mrs. Rizwana mother of Ridha invoked mixed feelings of pride and sadness.

To bring about awareness on the various atrocities done on women a ballet with a theme “No more silence” was presented.

Fr. Sebastian Mathai in his speech advised the students to pursue a goal and to make a difference in this world Sr. Rosevera, our Principal in her message inspired the students to lead a noble life and spread the light of compassion to dispel the darkness of intolerance. The baton of leadership was passed on from Rida Rabea Fathima to Nadia of class IX. Each student then had their moment of glory as they walked proudly onto the stage to receive a memento.

Mary Immaculate School not only nurtures the scholastic development of a child but stresses more on the holistic upbringing of a child. Keeping this in mind, the following students were felicitated by the Principal.

The valedictorians left the auditorium carrying the candle of love, knowledge and compassion into the world.

The programme was compeered by Mrs. Maria Frederick and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Jayasheela.
