“Teachers are architects of country’s future. Don’t deprive them of what’s rightfully theirs.”

The city streets were flooded with placards, banners and a protest March with a turnout of more than 30,000 teachers, non teaching staff and administrators of private schools. These members of the education sector took to the streets demanding the revoking of the 70% tuition fee ordered by the state Government. Parents should also remember that education is an investment and not just an expenditure.

Our school teachers from LKG to Std X under the aegis of Principal Sr. Rosevera participated in this rally. The teachers reached the venue, Bangalore Railway Station, at 8.45 a.m. The rally started at 9.30 a.m. and they marched to Freedom Park with other thousands of teachers to show their solidarity in revoking 70% tuition fee cut. Represented by 12 organisation, the protesters gathered under the aegis of Karnataka Private School Managements, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff coordinative Committee and handed over memorandums to MLC’s and the education minister.

The rally ended with a very powerful thought – “Parents should also remember that education is an investment and not just an expenditure.”
