“Water is the driving force of all nature.”

The United Nations has declared March 22nd as World Water Day. Be it education, health, food, household needs or macro level economic activities and international commerce water is an indispensible resources for human existence. UN theme for this year for water day is “Valuing Water”. Valuing water and mitigating its misuse and wastage are practical steps all nations can collectively partake to combat the problem. To commemorate this day, a special prayer service was conducted by the students of IX where the students reiterated the importance of water through a small skit showing how we human beings in our own ways are responsible for the misuse of water. Students were encouraged to check for leaks in pipes, faucets and couplings, to plant drought resistant trees and plants, to turn of the water while brushing one’s teeth etc. A colourful bulletin board about the use and misuse of water was put up by the students of Std VIII. Most of the time, we human beings forget that the water cycle and life cycle are one and become selfish and tamper with the nature.

Lets take a pledge on this World Water Day to save water for this God created beautiful Day.
