“Teachers plant seeds of knowledge that grow forever”

On the auspicious occasion of the 133rd birthday of an amazing educator Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President and Second President of Free India, the students celebrated the Teachers’ Day virtually with zeal and zest. Since this year the teachers’ day was on a Sunday, the school management felicitated the teachers on Saturday, 4th September 2021.

The management represented by Sr. Ida Barboza, Joint Secretary Managing Committee Mary Immaculate Institutions, Sr. Clare, the Administrator of our and Sr. Rosevera our Principal organised the Holy Mass with the celebrant Rev. Fr. Nashvin. Father in his speech reiterated the importance of a teacher in shaping the life of each student and thereby affecting the development of the country.

After the mass and a short refreshment, Sr. Bedsy and Sr. Ranitha led the group in a meaningful prayer. Sr. Ida Barboza while wishing the teachers, appreciated their hard work, dedication and determination specially during this pandemic. Sr. Clare too appreciated the works of the teachers and requested Sr. Ida to felicitate teachers, Mrs. ShanthaMary , Mrs. Mabel, Mrs. Stella Alex, Mrs. Margaret Joseph and Mrs. Bertha Rajan for their long years of commitment and loyalty to their vocation and to the school.

Sr. Bedsy conducted a few interesting games which brought back the child in the teachers and uplifted their moods with each trying hard to win a prize. The winners of the quiz on “ A brief history of the Apostolic Carmel and the beginnings of its Educational Mission” were appreciated for their spirit to excel by Sr. Clare and were duly awarded by Sr. Ida Barboza. Sr. Clare and Sr. Ida Barboza thanked Mrs. Vijayalakshmi for the beautiful stage decoration. The teachers were given gifts on the occasion of this beautiful day and the day came to an end with an appetizing fellowship lunch. The dawn of 5th September witnessed a beautifully uploaded virtual program on YouTube. A special cultural program was organised virtually by the students which included a beautiful prayer service including a prayer dance, a mesmerizing skit on the vices of technology and the role played by the teachers in weaning them off it, an energetic fusion dance and a beautiful compilation of videos by the students of Std 1 and 2. The entire program took shape under the able guidance of teachers,  Sr. Bedsy, Mrs. Bharathi, Mrs. Susheela, Mrs. Bhagyajyothi, Mrs. Sujatha, Mrs. Aishwarya, Mrs. Nithya, Mrs. Preethi Dora with help from class teachers of Std. 1 and 2: Mrs. Padma, Mrs. Shirley, Miss. Preethi Raj, Mrs. Faheema, Mrs. Margaret Joseph and Mrs. Maria Frederick.
