“Mary’s greatness consists in the fact that she wants to magnify GOD, not herself.”

Our lady of Mount Carmel or Virgin of Carmel is the title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary in her role as the patroness of the Carmelite Order. The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is celebrated annually on 16th July when we reminiscence Mother Mary’s virtues of humility, chastity and her motherly nature.

Even during the pandemic no stone was left unturned by Sr. Betsy, the animator of Carmel Blossoms in celebrating the day with the limited resources available. A meaningful prayer service was led by Ms. Merin Thomas, Ms. Judith Imelda and Ms. Tanya Tersita.

The Chief Guest of the day, Rev. Fr. Jeevan Tauro of the Carmelite Monastery, Margao Goa in his message beautifully explained the inception of the day, the importance of the brown scapular, the apparitions and reiterated the importance of the Rosary during these trying times.

Students, Ms. Sowmya Ratnam, Ms. Amanda Abreo, Ms. Andrea Abreo and Judith Imelda sang the Mount Carmel song venerating Mother Mary and asking for her protection.

Sr. Ida Barboza, Joint Secretary, Managing Committee of Mary Immaculate School in her concluding message wished everyone a Happy Feast and urged the students to imbibe the qualities of Mother Mary.

The entire program was compiled, edited and uploaded on the website by Mrs. Shwetha.
