21st June 2023:

"Yoga must not be practiced to control the body, rather it must bring freedom to the body."

The 9th International Yoga Day was commemorated today in our school to celebrate the essence of yoga practice and the physical and spiritual power that asanas have brought to the world stage. The day began with a prayer service imploring God's blessings, followed by a skit written by Naandhini. K Murthy of class 8th "A". The skit stressed on the core and positive effects of practicing yoga. The skit culminated with a dance depicting yogic and meditational poses.

Under the able guidance of Mrs. Smitha, Mrs. Nayana and Mrs. Lalitha, students did warm-up exercises, performed sitting and standing asanas, the importance of which were simultaneously explained.

The event ended with a quote by the hosts that soon became the highlight of the day. "Yoga is a gift, a treasure to hold, a way to find composure and let it unfold. It's a way to find joy, to find your way, to let your heart guide you each and every day."

Sr. Rosevera, the principal in her message appreciated the efforts of the students who participated in the assembly for the lovely script and the short and simple performance set up by the students of class 8th A, under the tutelage of their class teacher Mrs. Latha. Sister praised the PT teachers and the Yoga instructor for their commendable work in training the students from std 1 to std 8 for this day.

Sister reiterated the importance of practicing yoga regularly for a healthy mind and body.
